Mullein

‘Don’t be mullein bout it’

Mullein is a prized herb that can be found as a “weed” on the side of the road.

Because they are resilient in nature and tend to be invasive, when they are found in farms, they typically refer to them as weeds.

What is a weed anyway?

Mullein should get much more credit than it usually does but that is why I chose to dedicate a whole page to it.

It produces a rosette of leaves in its first year of growth and in the second a single unbranched stem reaching a height of about usually 2ft tall but can reach up to 7 feet!

Some of the prominent uses for mullein in the form of tincture, tea and oil are:

  • Ear infection
  • Respiratory issues
  • Disinfectant
  • Chest infection
  • Wounds
  • Inflammation
  • Heart health

Mullein is a wonderful addition to your arsenal and easy to work with!

I am currently drying some to make tea, tinctures and oil so stay tuned!

Let me know what you think of this plant and what have you used it for?
